Keep up with us on our six month adventure to the other side of the world. We may have very well lost our minds, but that won't keep this from being the trip of a lifetime. We hope you'll join us!

THE PERFECT THING

After leaving Rotorua, we headed to a little town on the east coast called Tauranga and spent the night at an oceanside campsite at neighboring Mt. Manganui. We both really liked the place a lot and wished we had given ourselves more time to spend there. It was a beautiful town right on the water and looked like somewhere we could have enjoyed for a while. We spent our only evening there walking along a boardwalk and watching the many surfers take on waves not far from our camp.

The next morning we did a little window shopping in the rain and had the best breakfast ever created by human hands at the Mediterranean Cafe in Tauranga. After all the epic mountains and beaches and rivers and vineyards and the like, it was a toasted bagel with cream cheese, avocado, tomato and bacon that actually had me seriously considering moving to New Zealand. I know you’re thinking — “yeah, that sounds like a pretty good breakfast sandwich,” but I’m honestly convinced someone sold their soul for the ability to make the perfect edible thing. It was so good, even I couldn’t put it down to take a picture.
