Keep up with us on our six month adventure to the other side of the world. We may have very well lost our minds, but that won't keep this from being the trip of a lifetime. We hope you'll join us!
THE LAST SUPPER — IN SIR EMERALD

With winter fast approaching in New Zealand, the market is flooded with tourists like us trying to sell their cars before leaving, so Seth and I weren’t quite sure what to expect. We posted fliers at backpackers and postings online, and had no bites for the first few days. Feeling our ever-shrinking checking account after 4 months of travel, we were trying to pinch our pennies every way we could until we sold the car. This made for a lot of PB&J sandwiches and cucumber sandwiches in the back of the car parked at a free campsite we found at a farm by the airport. Not the most glamorous way to travel, but I think we went 5 days on $10NZ. Not bad.

Feeling a bit desperate, we finally decided to create a paid classified on NZ’s ebay-like site, and it paid off big time. It was a stressful 3 days of answering emails, calls and text messages about our car, but we finally sold him … for asking price, too! What a load off.

Without a car, we found ourselves homeless once again. Lucky for us, our friends Craig and Kristin offered to take us in for our last 3 nights in Auckland.
